Welcome to SCTiRP!
It is our purpose to ensure that every classroom in Southern Colorado has a
highly qualified teacher in order to meet the needs of all students. The
Southern Colorado Teacher in Residence Program seeks to broaden the pool of
qualified teacher candidates available to schools. The program attracts candidates with real world
experience who are unable to complete a traditional teacher education program.
This grant funded program was created to address Colorado teacher shortages in historically high needs endorsement and geographic areas and curtail the use of emergency authorizations by providing meaningful supervision and support with rigorous graduate level education training to nontraditional teachers.
